My Workshop in Pictures

(yes, it's a 6x8 shed!)

Yes, it's an 8ft x 6ft garden shed! The cedarwood construction is still fine after 15 years. The BS250 bandsaw runs on a rail on wheels for stowage. The home made router table just allows a 1/4 inch DW 613 router inside. It is MDF and is sealed except for the Vax connection and the cutter aperture, keeping down noise and dust. In the corner cupboard lies an old Vax piped through the leg of the bench. The stacked boxes of power tools are also on wheels. The bench is 25mm MDF with a birch ply top skin, and sits on a frame made from decking offcuts, built around an old oak chest of drawers. The short bench hook allows long stock to stick out of the door.

A Microclene 100 reduces fine airbourne dust to a minimum. Hanging up is a shooting board of my own design with twin guide fences.
A B&Q halogen desk light is bolted directly to the drill gearbox lid.
Under the B&Q drill is a heated tool cupboard . A wood top bolted to the table allows packing to square it up to the spindle, and also a sliding fence for repeat drilling.

I'll let you into a secret - this is what it usually looks like!

The sharpening station has a water-cooled Tormek grinder sitting on a wet deck, the rim of which will hold a diamond stone with magnets. Also part of the Veritas honing system. Old office paper storage cabinets make great tool and parts storage.
Heated Tool Cupboard.
Details of the tool heater can be found at this page

Router table shown open. DeWalt DW913 1/4" router will cope with grooves and rebates up to 16mm. Router and VAx both plugged into Trend no-volt switch. .

Under the fitted storage cupboard are all my hardwood boards and scantlings, all either scrounged or recycled from old furniture.
