2006 major project - Dining Table
This is the largest project since the TV stand. It is made of solid
American white oak, with oak lippings round a veneered 18mm MDF top
for stability.
Oak side table made from old coffee table. Bichromate and Vandyke
stain with Danish Oil finish.
Stained pine bathroom cabinet, commission piece to create a
matching unit for existing pine bathroom.

Oak Bookstand made from old skirting. Originally had a 1 metre base
with a clip to hang onto a disabled trolley

Quick Coffee Table made in a hurry for a new TV.
"Mahogany" (Sapele) table made from offcuts from conservatory build. French
Polished finish over Potassium Bichromate stain.
Custom cases for Feinwerkbau P34 air pistol made from cedar taken
from old drawer linings and ply taken from a shopfitting.
Hatch doors made from oak taken from an old 1960's bookshelf.
Construction is traditional panel in grooved frame and tenoned
corners.
My own design of pill popper to remove pills from blister packs by
the elderly or frail. Several made and sold on eBay.
Not a make project, but a
renovation of an antique mahogany coffee table.
Simple victorian mahogany box with brass inset engraved plate as wedding gift.
Bird feeder and drink station. The feeder is made from oak drawer sides and has a perspex
front in a groove. The feeder mouth is an old 30mm hyperdermic body with 1/3 of the diameter
cut away on the bottom side. Drinks station is from an old port bottle box and holds a Blue
Nun bottle upside-down with the neck just below the top of the saucer. Atmospheric pressure
holds in water until the level drops.
TV, video, Sky and Hi-Fi Unit made from veneered boards, with
traditional oak panel doors. Speakers behind black cloth.
Several commission jobs - boxes for Record shoulder planes. Made
from maple with either solid or ply bottoms and sliding tops.
Original eBay sale generated commissions.
Shave tidy made from oak. This was for me and allowed me to carry
all my stuff to the bathroom in one hand.
My attempt at a fake antique. Stool from old oak with shakes and
knots. stained with van dyke and bichromate and finished in garnet
polish. Arrises were rubbed with a burnisher to create wear
patterns. Still in use, not sold!

Folding stool for birdwatching. Made from an old beech table leg and a square
of plywood. More engineering than joinery. The cross pieces serve to hold the
legs at a constant width and also to hold the weight of the sitter. An extra
cross piece under the 'loose' leg top also holds the weight.
