Replace main seals in Diana/Original Model 6G
Wiggle the
trigger/spring assembly under the sear lever.
Holding the trigger
canted to one side and rearwards of its final position, slip
the spring tongue under the frame in front of the trigger.
Push the trigger
forwards and relocate the trigger pin and tap home.
Check the cap on the pistol body to check where the thread starts to bite and
mark with Tippex. Insert the spring and assemble the rear piston.Put the pistol back on the sash cramp so that its right side is uppermost. I screwed a wood block to the fixed clamp jaw to stop it slipping, and a cable tie loosely round the body end just to stop the whole thing jumping out.
(Alternatively if you have no cramp the average adult male will be able to push the cap back by hand with the pistol in a carpenter's vise, but having the mating marks where the thread starts to bite will assist greatly.)
Screw up the
cramp, (or push by hand) all the time ensuring the pistons are relatively in the
correct opposing pisitions. Use a wooden stick to twist them
into place through the pinion holes.
When the cap and the body are in close contact, move the cap to the biting position and attempt to make the thread "bite" whilst applying light pressure with the cramp. If necessary push the pistol body rightwards with the left hand. Eventually the thread will bite and screw up the cap at least one turn. Don't cross-thread!
