Replace main seals in Diana/Original/Gecado Model 10

Oh Dear! Where's the washer gone?





Ah - here it comes! The washer was completely disintegrated, yet 5 shots before the pistol had been shooting normally. The new blue washers are not expected to suffer the same problems.


Only way to get the remains out was to scrape the compression area with a length of small diameter pipe and then vacuum cleaning with a piece of garden hosepipe lashed to the vacuum cleaner nozzle. The barrel also contained several pieces.


Refit the spring cap temporarily and mark with a pencil the point at which the cap disengages. This will assist in replacing the cap under spring pressure.


Refit the new washer by pressing down on a smooth surface such as a clean bench. A bit of "spit" on the dovetailed spigot will help.
