Simple Gun Case
This case made from 6m and 9mm birch ply was made up in about 2 hours for a colleague at out shooting club for an Original Model 10 air target pistol .
The 9mm ply sides are bandsawed to width.
Now you know one reason the bandsaw is on wheels - the shed is simply too short to get long lengths sawn, so the wood stays put and the bandsaw moves towards me in 6 inch steps.

Sides and ends are marked up for length and sawn by hand

Ply will plane square on a shooting board as easily as solid wood with a sharp plane.

The thickness of the ply is transferred to a marking gauge......

Then transferred to the butt joints on the end pieces.

The corner butt joints are easily cut on the bandsaw - first the cuts along the length...
